$50,000 Grant Brings Teen Volunteerism to the Forefront

All hands in for volunteering

A $50,000 NobleCause grantee, the Quixote Quest program at Center For Family Services is addressing unmet needs in the community by utilizing the power of volunteerism. Quixote Quest fosters a culture of volunteerism among New Jersey high school teens, providing them the opportunity to take action and bring lasting change to the communities we all share.

Quixote Quest pairs teen volunteers with meaningful weekly volunteer service opportunities. The Quixote Quest teen volunteers make a commitment to invest their time to make a change in the lives of people or animals in need. Quixote Quest members support projects that impact the lives of rescue or shelter animals, economically disadvantaged children, individuals with developmental disabilities, at-risk girls, or the medically fragile or elderly.

Through the service learning experience, Quixote Quest, in partnership with NobleHour and TreeTop Commons, will mobilize a new generation of passionate, informed leaders who are connected and caring citizens.

The NobleCause grants, organized by NobleHour.com, were made possible by an anonymous donor within the GiveWell Community Foundation, which serves Polk County, Florida. The NobleCause grant competition, invited high schools, school districts, colleges and universities, and nonprofits to identify and address a local challenge and to recruit and enrich the social responsibility of volunteers. 100 organizations were awarded $6,500 grants, while seven exemplary organizations were recognized at the $50,000 level. NobleHour.com is dedicated to using NobleCause to increase volunteerism that raises awareness at the local level and develops community members who can take action.
